Deciding where to go always tends to be the hardest part of the holiday planning process, and for good reason. There are many options, and deciding the destination really requires you to plan your budget, pick the best time of year for the holiday, factor in time for travel, and decide what activities you want to do when you arrive.

Some people have a preferred destination in mind, for example, they want to go to a tropical island they have been dreaming of, or they have a city in mind that they saw in a movie and want to visit. For others, the preferences are less strict. They may want to try a new destination that is different from what they are used to, or they may prefer somewhere warm and interesting.

The destinations listed travel all the way from the Pacific islands to the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Africa, the Middle East and the entire globe. Some of them are very popular tourist destinations, while others are hidden gems that are a bit off the beaten path. What all these destinations have in common is that they are all worth a visit.

What really matters is that the destination you choose meets your travel requirements. A honeymoon destination may not be ideal for a family vacation, and a vacation full of adventure is not ideal for a destination that is meant to be a relaxing getaway. The guides for each destination aim to help you determine what kind of trip you can expect from that destination.
