Category: Travelling with Family

Traveling as a family with kids, grandparents, even in-laws, adds complications to a holiday. However, those complications require additional planning. It doesn’t necessarily make the trip worse.

Traveling with kids means planning not just the journey, but also the accommodations and activities available at the destination. The difference between resorts with a pool, a kids’ club, and a beach with a kids’ club, and resorts that have great photo ops with activities for kids is substantial.

Teenagers are their own set of challenges. They are at the age where they have destinations and activities of their own choosing, but they also have restrictions where they are not fully independent. In a resort style vacation, everything is contained at the resort, and the activities are enough to keep teenagers from being bored and the resort from being over-crowded.

Planning vacations with the in-laws is simplified with agreements on expectations. If everyone knows exactly how much time and in what settings is going to be shared and how much is going to be separate, everyone is happier.
