    Bargain holidays

If you are looking for a cheap getaway for 2016 then now is the time to start looking. Many travel agents are already offering great deals on holidays for summer next year and there are some huge savings to be had by booking in advance. You can also get great deals by booking last minute but you do need to consider if you have a valid passport (and if not, have you got enough time to get one), if you have got time to save money or already have money for spending, can you make arrangements for any pets you have to be looked after and last but not least, have you had enough time to really look in to the deal properly to ensure that the holiday package being offered and location is really what you want?

Booking in advance gives you plenty of time to sort all of these things out and will also give you something to look forward to.

  • Learning the language

    Learning the language

When travelling abroad it is helpful to learn a little of the local language. This will allow you to communicate with some of the local people easier and may help you should you find yourself in a situation where you require assistance.

You do not really have to learn how to say full sentences but sometimes just knowing the most useful words or phrases will be enough. If you are really struggling then you could even take a phrase book with you to refer to should you need to.

Some languages are quite similar to English making it easier to communicate with people, but if the language is very different and you are staying in an area that is not particular popular with tourists you may find that many of the local business owners / workers, do not understand you.

You can do crash courses in learning a language which will give you a great overview of the main phrases you will need.

  • Holiday with the in-laws

    Holiday with the in-laws

I know it must sound like some peoples worst nightmare, a holiday with your partner’s parents but for some us it will be the only way to get a holiday at all this year. So the question is how to make it as painless as possible? For us the solution has been planning our holiday with military precision allowing for time to do the things that interest us and time to spend with the family. There are always going to need to be compromises, such is life, but you need to enjoy your vacation and not return home feeling more stressed than when you left. Set some boundaries before you go and make sure that you and your partner are in agreement on these rules so that everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet. All in all a holiday with In-laws needn’t be difficult, just be sure to stand your ground on the important things, compromise on the things that don’t matter too much and always show your gratitude to your partner’s parents… without them you may not have had a holiday at all.

  • Packing for a holiday in the UK

Packing for a holiday in the UK

Unfortunately you can never guarantee good weather in the UK. Even if it is the height of summer, we Brits are getting used to cool days and rain no matter what time of the year it is. But this said, it does not stop many from staying in the UK for their family holiday.

The UK has many beautiful holiday locations, from golden sand beach holidays to fast moving city breaks. When it comes to packing for a holiday in Briton, you have to prepare for everything. You can always check the weather report prior to packing but this can change in a day so may not be all that reliable. Make sure that you have clothes items you can layer. Take short sleeve shirts and t-shirts but then also take a jacket or cardigan so you can wrap up if the temperatures are not as high as you may like.

The weather does not stop you having fun in the UK on your holiday. There are many activities to do on rainy days and a walk across the beach in the rain can be great fun for all the family as long as you have packed the right sort of clothing.

  • The Billion Pound Hotel – Dubai

Dubai has for many years now, been seen as a luxury place to go on holiday. There is a lot of money in Dubai and once you are there that becomes very obvious. Recently a program was made about a billion pound hotel in Dubai called the Burj Al Arab. A stay in this hotel costs ten thousands pounds a night and you can expect to be truly spoilt whilst on your stay there. The restaurants have their own aquariums, there are over 200 kitchen staff and the heli pad makes it easy for the rich and famous to drop in unnoticed.

Some people were a little disappointed with some of the décor in the hotel as there did seem to be a bit of a miss match of colours and styles in certain areas but with much of it draped in gold, no one can deny that this hotel was not built on a budget.
